Ameren Vegetation Reclamation Project
Federal reliability requirements state that electrical utilities must establish a vegetation management program to ensure safety and reliability. Ameren Transmission supervisors oversee the Vegetation Management Program to ensure clearance between trees and transmission lines. In 2024, UPDC was hired as part of a team to acquire easements for Ameren to properly maintain transmission lines and ensure the safety and reliability of the transmission grid for all communities.
MoDOT Route 366
The Missouri Department of Transportation has a two-year project scheduled for Missouri Route 366 (Watson Road) between Geyer and the city of St. Louis limits starting in 2024. During that project, the department will be resurfacing the roadway as well as making updates to the roadway’s pedestrian facilities to be meet current Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. UPDC was hired as part of a team to supplement MoDOT staff to acquire the land for the temporary and permanent easements needed to construct the project.
MoDOT Route 21
The Missouri Department of Transportation project to resurface Route 21 between Gravois (Route 30) and the Meramec River began in 2023. The project includes updates to the roadway’s pedestrian facilities making them compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. UPDC was hired as part of a team to supplement MoDOT staffing to acquire land for the temporary and permanent easements needed to start the construction project.
IL Route 3 in Godfrey
In February 2023, UPDC was hired to negotiate the acquisition of easements and right-of-way along IL Route 3. This project involves improving the transportation and safety at the intersections of IL Route 3 with West Delmar Avenue and Pierce Lane in The Village of Godfrey, Madison County, Illinois.
Maryville Illinois Project
In December 2021, UPDC was hired to negotiate the acquisition of easements and right-of-way along IL Route 159 on behalf of The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to improve curb cuts to improve accessibility to sidewalks and meet ADA standards.
Working with Developers and Engineers
UPDC contracted to provide acquisition and relocation services to North Park Partners for RPA1 of the Lambert Airport Eastern Perimeter Redevelopment Area now known as North Park. North Park now offers 550-acres of office, retail and industrial space.
New Mississippi River Bridge
UPDC provided land acquisition and relocation services in conjunction with the New Mississippi River Bridge Project.
Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
UPDC became most noted for providing land acquisition services as a result of their largest land acquisition project with the City of St. Louis, Lambert’s Noise Mitigation Program. During the period, fall of 1990 through fall of 2004, UPDC provided land acquisition and relocation assistance for approximately 500 residential properties, businesses and non-profit organizations in Kinloch, Missouri. As the prime consultant on this project, UPDC handled all phases of the acquisition and relocation process.
City of St. Louis Board of Public Service
The City of St. Louis Board of Public Service (BPS) contracted UPDC to provide land acquisition services for various projects under the federally funded Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Under this contract, UPDC prepared relocation studies, property valuations and provided relocation and or negotiation services for properties required for transportation improvements. In the event amicable agreements cannot be reached, UPDC assisted the City in facilitating condemnation. As these are federally funded projects, all services are performed in accordance with the Federal Uniform Relocation Act (URA).
Illinois Department of Transportation
UPDC completed a three year contract to provide land acquisition services for various projects in District Eight (8). Under this contract, UPDC prepared relocation studies, appraisals, review appraisals and provided relocation and negotiation services for properties required for highway improvements.
Local Government Projects
The City of Manchester plans to construct the Hanna Road Bridge structure replacement during the summer of 2010. In 2009, the City of Manchester contracted UPDC to secure property title information, negotiate with property owners and otherwise provide all services in connection with acquiring right-of-way needed to construct this project. The project sponsor received federal funding requiring all negotiations be conducted in compliance with federal regulations as provided by the MoDOT Local Public Agency Manual.
